There are certain things we all know we're just not good at.
When it comes right down to it, I am not what anyone would consider a patient person. We read The Scarlet Letter my junior year of high school and had to pick our own letter to wear, so for a week I wore a nice big letter I. Impatience, thy name is Mary.
I also know how powerful being patient in a situation can be, because I've had my impatience bite me on the bum enough times to learn. It can be waiting out a conflict, biting one's tongue, forgiving someone else's pace, or simply letting things unfold without interference, being patient is often the act of doing absolutely nothing and letting that other powerful warrior (time) pass. Sometimes all we can do is wait.
So here's a reminder for when you feel like you're hitting your head against a wall or spinning your wheels: take a beat and let those two powerful warriors go to work.
Have a great rest of your week!
